Privacy Policy

Last updated October 8, 2026. Operated by 238 Apps (James Mitchell). Contact: [email protected].

This policy covers the Ministrative Windows app and this website. In short: your ministry content stays on your computer, and we do not collect it.

The app stores your data on your PC

Ministrative keeps your data in files on your own computer, in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Ministrative (usually C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Ministrative). If you used this app when it was called MinistryBase, it moves your existing %LOCALAPPDATA%\MinistryBase folder to the new location the first time it starts, and keeps the old one renamed as MinistryBase_moved_<date> until you delete it. This includes your sermons, lessons, articles, attached files, calendar items, and any member information you enter. The developer does not receive, collect, or sell this content.

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking

The app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or usage tracking, and it does not check for updates on its own. It does not send your sermons, calendar, members, or any other content to the developer or to any server. Bible text used by the app is part of the installation and is not downloaded.

Things that open only when you ask

A few buttons hand off to other programs on your computer. Send Feedback opens your email program. A link such as a member’s website, or the optional donation link in the About window, opens in your web browser. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it.

Optional online features

Settings includes an Online Features page for features that may come later. It is off by default. In this version, if you turn it on and enter a cloud project address, the app only checks whether that address can be reached. You are never required to use it, and the library works without it.

Sensitive information is your responsibility

Member information and notes can be sensitive pastoral information. You are responsible for what you enter and for who can access your computer. We recommend turning on Windows device encryption (such as BitLocker), using a password on your Windows account, and keeping your own backups.

Backups

Each time data is saved, Ministrative keeps a dated backup copy in the same data folder, retaining the 10 most recent for each data file. You can also export a full backup zip from Settings, Backup and Restore, and save it wherever you like.

Removing your data

Because your data lives on your PC, you control how long it is kept. Uninstalling the app does not delete your data. To remove it completely, uninstall the app and then delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Ministrative folder.

This website

This section covers only the ministrative.app website, not the Ministrative app. The app itself has no analytics or tracking of any kind, as described above. This website sets no cookies and has no advertising. It counts visits and button clicks with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service. GoatCounter records the page visited, the referring site, and the browser, screen size, and country. It does not record names, email addresses, or IP addresses, and it does not track you across other websites. The typefaces and pictures are files on this site. They are not loaded from another service. The only other request to another service is when you submit the waitlist form.

Waitlist email

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address only to tell you when Ministrative is ready to install. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for a newsletter. The form is processed by Formspree, which receives the submission for us. To have your address removed, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Children

Ministrative is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date above will change when we do, and the new version will be posted on this page.
